![]() | What is it? The White Australia policy started in 1901 at Federation and was the first act that went through Parliament and the Queen. This act went through to keep the land of Australia a British Colony, which means that any non-British people weren’t allowed into the country because of their race. The Dictation Test would solve the case that they weren’t being racist because they could do the test in any European language. After World War I and World War II, there weren’t too many men left in Australia, so they abolished the Act in 1958 and the race discrimination was removed and they supported the growth of the Australian population and in 15 years, the population grew by an extra 3 million. |
